“I am deeply convinced that poetry is our only hope today, that to keep faith in the future it is essential to see and hear beauty, to soak it up and remember what unites us all.
From this belief was born the desire to photograph the town through its love stories. To listen to its heart and capture the emotions experienced by the people who live there.
What makes a town is also its emotional life. Don’t we get attached to places because we meet people there, make connections and create stories?
To love! is a participative project made with men and women who live in Rennes. Since November 2024, with the help of the Tombées de la Nuit festival, I have been collecting love stories and tales of romantic encounters during residencies in different areas of Rennes. These stories have inspired me to go and photograph where these stories took place. So far, about fifty of these stories have fed into this emotional mapping. Like a Map of Love, this photographic project is a poetic wandering through the town. Discover its streets, squares and parks and be struck by stories as intimate as they are universal.”
An exhibition presented by Les Tombées de la Nuit, in partnership with Territoires Rennes and JCDecaux.
